The title says what it’s all about… this is real Mississippi delta Blues. Pierluigi Petricca and Marco Tinari are two friends and these two Italian guys play this genre like the best. The album opens with ”I go back to Mississippi” and when listening to it you have automatically the reflex to consult the cover: “is this a song from Johnson? Or Hopkins? The respect is great when you discover that this is a Papaleg song! And it ain’t just that one… all the Papaleg songs on this album have the same high level! You can hear that these two are amusing when playing the blues. Their versions from the well-known songs as “Talk to your Daughter” and “Feeling Good” show their respect for the old bluesmasters but at the same time they show how good these Italian friends can play guitar. Pierluigi on dobro and slide and Marco on the acoustic guitar are masters of their instruments and it’s a real pleasure to hear them playing. One special word deserves also Giordano Valente who plays harp on a couple of songs which gives a brilliant accent. Conclusion: this is an album which should be in every collection from the Delta Blues lovers…”
